Kevin Hanly has almost 30 years experience with creditor negotiations, foreclosures and bankruptcy. He has served as a trustee administering bankruptcy cases; and has represented consumers, small businesses, trustees, municipalities, secured creditors and unsecured creditors in Chapter 7, 11 and 13 proceedings. With recent amendments to the Bankruptcy Code, it is more important than ever to have a lawyer who knows the law, and knows how the bankruptcy court system works. Many colleagues, recognizing Mr. Hanly’s expertise and proven results, recommend him to their client in foreclosure, insolvency and bankruptcy matters.
Kevin Hanly was born and raised in Jersey City, New Jersey. He was a scholarship student and captain of the swim team at St. Peter’s Prep, graduated cum laude from Dartmouth College in 1973, and received his law degree and MBA in finance from New York University in 1978.
Admitted to practice law in the State and Federal courts of New Jersey, Kevin Hanly is also a member of the Hudson County Bar Association as well as the New Jersey State Bar Association and the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys.
Hanly practices law in northern New Jersey, especially in Hudson, Bergen and Passaic counties. He was a partner at Milton, Keane & Brady (1984-1991) and Hanly & Ryglicki (1991-2003). After a year as general counsel to the Paterson Public School, Hanly started his own practice with offices in Wyckoff and Edgewater. In addition to his stint as general counsel in Paterson, Hanly has served as a bankruptcy trustee, and as special counsel to the North Bergen Board of Education, the City of Jersey City, and the City of Bayonne.
Kevin Hanly is a member and past president of the Dartmouth Club of Northern New Jersey and a Rotarian. He is married for 31 years and has two sons. As a devoted father and avid sports fan, he has coached baseball in Wyckoff and basketball in Ridgewood.
